I love this bass, it lasted me about 8 months and was awesome to play on. The only reason I replaced it was because I wanted a five string bass so I could properly play 5FDP and Slipknot songs. Also the 'nut' broke at the top string part. Just by wear and tear I think. Because I was playing this Bass all the time. I'm sure I will replace the nut in the future so I can get back to playing it! The only criticism I would give this bass is, it isn't very good for slapping and popping. I prefer a precision bass, I think they are much better for the slap technique. But if you are just starting of and want something that plays well and looks cool then I would definitely advice this bass! It's awesome!
My First Bass Guitar!
So this Bass Guitar was my very first one. I decided to get it purely because of the image, I just thought it looked really cool. And it was within my price range of just over £100. I ordered it from a very good music website called gear4music, who have been one of my main music website for a while now.
Information on This Bass
I would say this is a very good starter bass guitar because it is a good price for the guitar it's self. But it's not just the guitar I got! It came with an X shaped guitar case, a strap and pic. The Electric Metal X Bass Guitar has definitely got the looks formetal music. The playability and sound makes it perfect for a variety of metal sub-genres as well. So it's good for Rock and Punk too. It has a Rosewood fingerboard which provides intonation of Paulownia wood, a particularly lightweight wood that helps the bass keep it's nice sound and full tone whilst remaining very agile and comfortable. It also has two Humbucker pickups which helps with loud volume while in a loud band!
What I Think of It
I love this bass, it is my favourite one for metal music! I will get a new bass so I can have more variety and style though. This Bass has lasted me from Christmas day 2011 till present day. It is great and so easy to adapt to. Like I've said before it is great for heavy metal playing with the fifth heavy string. The only criticism I would give this Bass is that it is hard to practice slapping and popping. All though with every bad side there is a good side because practicing slapping on this Bass really helped with my precision because the strings are closer together so the popping is harder. I had to dodge the fifth string in nearly every song with slapping, so moving onto a four string and doing slapping is so easy, it's amazing. I love this Bass, it was an great buy!!
My Second Bass Guitar
Now this is my second Bass. It has treated me well, and I have treated it well! I got it Christmas 2011 as a present from my parents, mostly a college gift too. They want to help me with my music career. This was the guitar I used for my college audition. I am keeping this guitar for as long as it lasts, but I am saving up to get a new four string Bass Guitar.
Information on This Bass
This is a very good Bass which I also got it from gear4music. It looks cool and is very easy to play, even with the provided strings. It has five strings so great for metal playing like Slipknot and 5FDP. For £400 pounds I thinks it's a bargain. Included with this Bass comes a white horse 80 watt amplifier, a strap, two good picks, a lead and a tuner. The Black Knight CB-12 5 String Bass Guitar, Black Satin looks amazing to play and is effortlessly comfortable to play, with a basswood body and maple top. This bass packs a lot of punch due to its closed humbucking pickup, and coupled with the built in 2-band equaliser, it sounds like a top range Bass. The finish is a really stylish way to complete this awesome bass.
What I Think of It
I love this bass so much!! It is definitley my favourite one for funk music. Basically anything with slapping! I wont be getting a new bass for a while because I am sorted now! I have a five string for my plectrum playing and aggressive metal music. And a four string for my slap, funk music! I've had this bass since Februray 2013 and it will be staying with me for ages! It is amazing! This is the bass guitar, my College has, so I didn't need to take a day or two to adapt to it. The only criticism I would give this bass is that, it gets so much finger marks in so little time. But that doesn't really matter as I can clean it a lot! This Bass is the best one for my slapping and popping! It is so easy to do because the strings are at a nice tention and since I practiced on the five string which has really tight strings. It feels so easy to slap and pop on this Bass! It is one of the best for such little money!
My Third Bass Guitar
This is my third Bass Guitar. It is absolutely amazing! I got it in Februray 2013 because I told my dad I wanted a new Bass Guitar for an exam that was happening in March 2013. My parents are so supportive and help me as much as they can with my music career so my dad did get me it. This bass guitar is definitley going to be one of my most used Basses and it will be kept for as long as it last!
